Seen during a news item on Radio-Canada regarding hate groups in Mississippi.
Apart from the usual suspects was a flag carried by someone in KKK hood and robe
which appeared to combined the Texan hoist band with a confederate battle flag
at the fly. People appeared to have come from various states based on their
regalia so the bearer could be from anywhere.

This is one of the "hybrid" flags which combine the Confederate flag with
those of CSA member states. Such flags also exist for several states (see
below).

The flag in this series for Virginia places the Virginia state seal in the
blue bar at the hoist. These flags became popular in the
South during the debates and arguments
that began in 2001 over the 1956 Georgia state flag. In each case, the
1956 Georgia flag design was adapted to one of the former Confederate states
by replacing the Georgia state seal with the seal or other prominent flag emblem
from one of the states. I also found one for Alabama using the
Alabama state seal in place of the Georgia as well as for Florida. The design for
Louisiana uses the pelicans and the motto from the Louisiana state flag in place of the Georgia
state seal.
The idea behind the flags
following this pattern was to show support for and solidarity with the
supporters of the 1956 Georgia state flag design. There is a similar
design for Tennessee that uses the three-star device from the center of the
Tennessee state flag to
replace the central star of the official Confederate naval jack. Supporters
in Arkansas have performed a similar design merger, using the central
diamond device from the Arkansas state flag to replace the central star
of the official Confederate naval jack. As far as I can tell, there was not one of these designs made for
Mississippi, since that state flag is the only remaining state flag that
incorporates a Confederate battle flag.

Regarding Alabama, there is another variant, with the state flag in the hoist
and CSA flag in the fly, each occupying one half of the flag length:

and another one, with the swapped places of the two flags and word ALABAMA in
center over all, in counterchanged colors (source
